Luxury Slate Products from the Lake District

About Us

Coniston Stonecraft

Established over forty years ago, you will find our workshop at the foot of Coniston Old Man. We take inspiration from the stunning Lakeland landscape to create handmade products from locally quarried slate. The local slate quarries have helped shape the natural landscape, and have been part of Coniston’s heritage for years. The skills and processes required to create our products were passed down through the generations and our craftsmen rely on skills and tools of the trade that have stood the test of time.

When you buy one of our products you know that you are buying a unique, quality British product that has been handcrafted and finished to an exacting standard. Today slate is no longer used just for roofing slates; the discerning customer knows that this hardwearing, durable material can make a lovely addition to any home, whether it’s a slate nameplate to adorn the front of your house or a chopping board for the kitchen.

Gone are the days of the etched coaster. Now we produce products that focus on the clean lines and show off the beautiful markings of the slate.

In our shop we have beautiful tactile rolling pins that are not only practical but look great on display. We also have cheese boards that will add style as well as substance to your dinner party and wine coolers that look too good to hide away, all available in either green or black slate. The only thing holding you back from being able to own your own piece of Lakeland is your imagination.

We welcome all orders, from small one-off orders to larger purchases. Our small team means that if you need to discuss your order you can always speak to someone who will be directly involved in its manufacture.
