Lake District slate doesn’t come easy, it’s drilled, blasted and hewn from the fells, occasionally, beautiful shards become available. We toyed with the idea of just selling these beautiful shards, completely untouched, but we work in collaboration with a fabulously talented cumbrian glass artist (Ginty) who changes these into these beautiful illuminiths. They ‘shine’ in the the garden, the interaction of the slate the glass and the sun creates a calming and joyous centrepiece. We can’t produce many, but when we do we can guarantee happiness.
